Members of the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce:

It has been a great week in San Angelo! Our businesses continue to re-open and much needed goods and services are becoming available again. Our COVID-19 rates remain low and stable. Keep up the good work… following the rules and supporting our local businesses is moving us ahead on the road to recovery.

Speaking of recovery… to further bring our historic downtown back to life, and to promote stores and restaurants being able to once again host the public, local musicians will be donating their time to play music from 3 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, May 30. Multiple musical artists will be playing for tips across the downtown area. These various locations include your favorite downtown storefronts, restaurants and bars. Head downtown to eat, drink, shop and listen to talented artists while you show your support for local businesses. We will be there tipping generously and hope you will be, too!

Another program that is driving recovery through the support of local business is the #SanAngeLOVE campaign. #SanAngeLOVE is a community initiative designed to work with locally owned businesses to drive revenue, while saving community members money. This is all about a community working for our community. If you want to learn more about participating in this program, give us a call!

The Chamber continues to strive to keep you all informed and engaged with the business community. This week, we added 103.5 JACK FM to our weekly communication schedule. Tune in Friday mornings at 8:30 am to hear about what’s up with the Chamber and the City of San Angelo.

Last night, we had our first virtual Business @ Happy Hour. We want to give a special shout out to The Penny Tap House, our event host. We had a great time and encourage everyone to check out their hospitality. Their food, drinks and service are top rate, and they are following the rules by providing a safe environment. We will certainly be back!

Our popular Ribbon Connecting Celebrations also continue to bring members of the community through the doors of local businesses. We are really enjoying getting out and meeting you all. We are actively scheduling these events, so if you are re-opening and want to get the word out, schedule your event by contacting Heather at heather@sanangelo.org, or call (325) 655-4136.

We are also continuing our very popular weekly webinars series, and the next installment will be on Friday, May 29 at 11 am. The topic is: “Don’t Stop Networking!” Learn valuable networking tips and tricks to keep business flowing during these challenging times. This webinar will feature Steve Black, Executive Director at BNI West Texas. Register here to take advantage of this free educational opportunity!

Despite the challenges, your Chamber is growing, and we are restarting our membership orientation meetings. If you are a new or a longer-term member who is interested in learning more about your Chamber benefits, please attend our Membership Orientation meeting on Wednesday, June 3 online via Zoom from 8 am to 9 am. RSVP here to reserve your spot and to receive dial-in instructions. We are looking forward to seeing you all!

Finally, we ask that you take a moment to like and follow us on Facebook and on other social media platforms, if you have not already done so. We also ask you to check out our website, www.sanangelo.org, for new information, as we are continually updating our resources page. I have included my email and personal cell phone number below. Please feel free to contact me at any time.

In the meantime, stay safe and keep well… We deeply appreciate you all.
