Allen’s Transport to build state of the art industrial terminal in San Angelo
The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the completion of the first phase of an industrial development project between the City of San Angelo Development Corporation (COSADC) and Allen’s Transport, Ltd.
Allen’s Transport is a chemicals and refined products industrial transportation, logistics and warehousing company headquartered in the City of Leduc, just south of Edmonton in western Canada. Allen’s has worked closely with the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce and the City of San Angelo Development Corporation (COSADC) since 2018 to secure land and develop plans for a 25,000 square foot multi-building terminal. The facility is being located on a 19-acre tract in the San Angelo Business & Industrial Park.
Allen’s Transport plans to create careers for an initial ten employees as they open their San Angelo facility with plans to increase that number to twenty employees in the future.
San Angelo Mayor Brenda Gunter remarked, “I am excited to have Allen’s Transport join the San Angelo business community. Companies have many cities to choose from when deciding to expand and take advantage of the economic opportunities offered in the US and west Texas. Success always requires great partnerships. I believe the partnership that has been established between our economic partners and Allen’s Transport will prove to be a great success story. As mayor I welcome and celebrate this new expansion into our great city.”
COSADC Director Guy Andrews said, “Allen’s Transport will be an excellent addition to the San Angelo Business & Industrial Park. It is the type of high-quality, sustainable development that we like to see. I anticipate that, with the current expansion of the Business & Industrial Park, that we will see many more developments like Allen’s Transport moving to San Angelo. They are definitely pace setters in our post COVID-19 economy.”
The company has variety of apparatus in its fleet including trucks, and specialty trailers an equipment that includes oilfield, petrochemical, mining, pulp and paper, industrial, refinery and generator stations. Allen’s Transport, Ltd. has a top-level Health, Safety and Environment Management System that allows the company to assess risk and identify workplace hazards.
The San Angelo Business & Industrial Park facility will feature state-of-the-art heavy haul truck bays, offices, maintenance areas and materials storage. This terminal is being built to the same high standards similar to their facility in Alberta, Canada. Company owner, Allen Fandrick, purchased his first heavy-haul truck in 1991. “Dedication to excellence has made Allen’s Transport, Ltd. one of the leading specialty trucking companies in the industry,” says Mr. Fandrick.
The City of San Angelo Development Corporation, the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce and Allen’s Transport’s worked closely together for over two years to complete this transaction.
